Students can look up books in our Destiny Discover Catalog! See what we have in the SSE library by searching for books that you are interested in and are on your reading level.

Want to know how many words are in the book you are reading? You can look it up at AR Book Find and it will tell you the number of words and the various reading levels – it will even give you the quiz number! Sometimes AR Book Find glitches, so you can also use a site called Bookroo.

Accelerated Reader / FLIP OVER READING!!!

At St. Simons Elementary, our FlipR Program encourages students to become confident, independent readers while celebrating their reading accomplishments! Students choose books that interest them, read independently, and then take Accelerated Reader (AR) quizzes to show their understanding. As they successfully complete quizzes, students earn AR points and add to their total word count throughout the school year.

Students can take AR quizzes at school or at home between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. At home, simply visit our school website and access Accelerated Reader from the School Resources / Students tab. Students will log in using their PIN number and 6-digit birthday (no gcbe).

We encourage families to help students make reading part of their everyday routine. Every book, every quiz, and every word counts!
