Mrs. Katy Ginn, Principal
Katy Ginn is our principal. She has lived in Glynn County for most of her life and is a graduate of Glynn Academy High School. Mrs. Ginn attended college at the University of Georgia where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education. She has also received her Master's Degree and Education Specialist Degree in Counseling from Georgia Southern University. She completed her Educational Leadership program at Georgia Southern University.
Mrs. Ginn was a high school English teacher and school counselor prior to becoming a school administrator. This year is Mrs. Ginn's twentieth year at St. Simons Elementary School. Mrs. Ginn loves working at St. Simons Elementary School because of the wonderful students at our school. She loves visiting the classrooms to watch our students working hard, having fun, and learning!
Mrs. Ginn is excited to begin the 2024-2025 school year and is proud to be the principal of St. Simons Elementary School. She strongly believes in our mission, "Joining Hands to Build a BRIGHTER Future for Our Community." St. Simons Elementary School is building future leaders one Super Dolphin at a time!
Mrs. Christine Fineran, Assistant Principal
Christine Fineran, our assistant principal, has been in Glynn County for the last ten years. She has served as an Instructional Lead Teacher at Golden Isles Elementary, Instructional Coach at Goodyear Elementary, and taught at Satilla Marsh Elementary. Prior to that, Mrs. Fineran taught in several different school systems in the state of Georgia and has had the opportunity to teach all grade levels Pre-K through 5th grade.
Mrs. Fineran received a Bachelor's Degree from Valdosta State University, a Master's Degree in Early Childhood from Nova Southeastern University, and an Education Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University.
Mrs. Fineran graduated from Glynn Academy. She has 28 years of experience. Mrs. Fineran shares the vision of St. Simons Elementary School and is excited to become a part of the "legacy as we live, learn, love, and laugh together."
Mrs. Charlotte Davis, Assistant Principal
Charlotte Davis, our assistant principal, has served in Glynn County Schools for the last eighteen years. She has served as an Instructional Lead Teacher at Glyndale Elementary, an Instructional Coach at Altama Elementary, and Assistant Principal at Altama Elementary, and taught at Goodyear and Altama Elementary. Prior to returning to Glynn County Schools in 2006, Mrs. Davis supported instruction through the Riverside Office of Education in Riverside, California and worked as a paraprofessional with Glynn County Schools, prior to this.
Mrs. Davis received a Bachelor's Degree from Armstrong Atlantic University, a Master's Degree in Early Childhood from Armstrong Atlantic University, and an Education Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Troy State University. Mrs. Davis has earned her Tier I Leadership Certification from Valdosta State University as well.
Mrs. Davis is a product of Glynn County schools (Glynn Academy) and has 23 years of experience in the field of education. Mrs. Davis is a servant-leader and is passionate about supporting student growth academically, socially and emotionally. Mrs. Davis is excited about joining the St. Simons Elementary school family and is looking forward to the 2024-2025 school year.
