Frequently Asked Questions About the SSE PTA

How Do I Join The PTA?

• You can join the SSE PTA by simply filling out the attached form and returning it to school in your child’s folder.  You may also visit our  member hub website by clicking this link.

What Types of Memberships are Available?

• There are two types of memberships available.  An Individual member is $6 and gets you one membership in the PTA.  The Dedicated Dolphin membership is $36 and gets you two memberships (ie- both parents, a parent and grandparent, two grandparents, etc.) and a Dedicated Dolphin car magnet.

What is My Obligation if I Join the PTA?

• By joining the PTA, your financial contribution goes to support funding for numerous activities and supplies at SSE such as your child’s communication folder, weekly readers, Fall Festival, Dolphins Do Art Day, mulch for the playground, the Accelerated Reader program, the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon and the SSE Ocean Lab .  While parent involvement and volunteers are always encouraged and welcomed at SSE, there is no further obligation once you join the PTA. 

When Are PTA Meetings Held?

• PTA meetings are held in the evenings, at the beginning of the monthly musical performances.

If I am Unable to Attend the PTA Meetings, Can I Still Join the PTA?

• Yes!  You do not need to be present at the PTA meetings in order to join the PTA.  Information discussed at PTA meetings will also be sent home via fliers, the school newsletter and other school-wide communications.

Who Is Eligible to Join the SSE PTA?

• Any SSE family member, teacher or friend is welcome to join the PTA.  This includes extended family members such as grandparents.
